FOOD STORAGE TYPES

American Indian Foods?
What types of foods and storage methods did Natives use that could sustain them during times without an abundance of food nearby. Like grains, fruits and vegetables during winter months? Is there anywhere in Missouri that holds classes on these things that I could attend?
I understand the american indian was the first american and they ate fruits and vegetables. What I want to know is what types of meals they made? How did they make them? How did they store any leftovers for later use?
For storage they made things like pemmican and jerky. They dried their meat, fruits, etc. I’m not sure about any classes in Missouri, perhaps someone else can help you with this, but there are books that you can order which have this info.
