What are the best foods to storage away in case of a disaster.?

I am putting together a disaster box for my family. I will definitely get canned food items but what are really good canned food items to store? It might be a disaster but we will wanna enjoy the food a little. And what else is a good food idea to put away?? Where can I get it?

Look for any canned food with a long shelf life. Of course over the years, they will have to replace them if they expire but look for foods that don’t expire until 2011 or 2012 or even 2013 if you can. Make sure you have a good variety of veggies, fruits, and meats. Vitamin c is very important so make sure you get some canned oranges or something citrus. I also suggest getting jugs of drinkable water and bottle of the longest shelf life vitamins. You will also want to include a first aid kit. They sell them at Walmart for really cheap. Blankets, flashlights, matches, candles, battery radio, hunting knife are all important. The hunting knife in case they need it. You never know if you will need to protect yourself or cut through something.
